JESUS: THE UNCONQUERABLE

Jesus: The Unconquerable

Not by might, or by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of hosts.
(Zechariah 4:6)

The scene was quizzical to all except those who understood why Jesus entered Jerusalem humbly riding upon a donkey. Jesus was on full display of the angel's words to Zechariah: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of hosts. Filled with the Spirit, Jesus need not display power. He had power! Think about it:

The devil had no hold on Him (John 14:30).
The praise of man could not awaken pride in Him (Matthew 21:9).
The Sadducees could not outwit Him (Matthew 22:23-46).
Poverty could not hinder Him (Matthew 8:20).
Demons and disease could not resist His rebuke (Matthew 8:16).
The disciples could not dissuade Him from the cross (Matthew 16:22).
The soldiers could not stand before Him (John 18:6).
Pilate could find no guilt in Him (John 18:6).
The soldiers could not deny that He was the Son of God (Matthew 27:54).
The grave was powerless to hold Him (Matthew 28:1-10).
The soldiers could not stop His exit from the tomb (Matthew 28:4).
Gravity could not oppose His ascension (Luke 24:50-53).
No power could hinder His enthronement at God's right hand (Romans 8:34).

God, who is the Creator and King of the nations, exalted His Son to be the Lord of the nations. The world is being readied by God to be under the rule of His soon-coming Son (Ephesians 1:9-10).

        As Jesus is now established at the right hand of His Father, so you are called to be seated at the right hand of Jesus. Are you preparing for such a high position? The key is to live today as Jesus did; rejecting the ways of the world and handling life as did Jesus - Not by might, nor by power, but by my [God's] Spirit.

        The world may view you as unimpressive as it did Jesus, clothed in humility and riding on a lowly beast. But in the end, you will experience the reality that Jesus has overcome the world.

        No matter how dark the world becomes, always trust Jesus' words: "In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." (John 16:33).

Always remember, Immanuel: God is with you.
