Both the evening news and talk show debates offer little hope that our world is moving toward a good place - but it is! It cannot, however, be achieved by mankind.
As we observe the never-ending suspense of our world, "He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision" (Psalm 2:4).
It all began when Adam and Eve followed Satan's lie - You shall be as God - and bit into the fruit of rebellion. Mankind fell from divine rule to self-rule. And in a tragic sense the results have proven God's Word to be true.
God has given us six thousand years to prove that we can govern ourselves in peace and purpose. The horrors reported in the nightly news, however, reflect our failure. We have failed to legislate a perfect civilization into existence.
At just the right time, however, God will hand the nations to the Prince of Peace, who gained the right and authority to govern the nations by His obedience in life and death.
This magnificent purpose and plan is unfolding before your eyes, that is, if you can turn off the news and see life through God's eyes. You will quickly discover that mankind faces two choices: Either comply or compete with divine governance.
Stupidly, we compete. We undermine ourselves from the start by removing the Creator from schools and misleading our students with massive doses of imaginary non-truth.
At just the right time, however, God will hand the nations to the Prince of Peace, who gained the right and authority to govern the nations by His obedience in life and death.
This magnificent purpose and plan is unfolding before your eyes, that is, if you can turn off the news and see life through God's eyes. You will quickly discover that mankind faces two choices: Either comply or compete with divine governance.
We attempt to shape God into our likeness, as though we are the masterpiece of perfection. In so doing, we invent gods that are deaf, blind and dumb.
God's laws, which rest upon the foundation of love, are cast out to be replaced with arbitrary, negotiable, changeable laws. Thus, they are no more than passing ideas, and in reality, they are neither laws nor truth.
Having given mankind six millennia to prove his failure as a delusional and self-made god, soon God's words to His Son will be fulfilled: "I will tell of the decree: 'The Lord said to me, 'You are my Son; today I have begotten you. Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession"' (Psalm 2:7-8).
In the end, the true Prince of Peace will bring the world to a better place. Will you be worthy to reign with Him? If you come to the cross in sincere repentance - i.e. turn from competing with God to compliance to Him - then the answer is a glorious YES!
